Introduction
Due to increasingly more complex demands on the sealing technology, material developments are gaining in importance. Sealing materials are challenged to face greater pressures, higher temperatures, faster sliding speeds and to cope with poorer lubricating fluids. A new generation of fluids - like synthetic hydrocarbons and ester, biological degradable pressure fluids and water based pressure fluids present new challenges on newly developed sealing materials.
